I spoke too soon.

I spoke too soon...just when I thought we were over the hump I am facing yet another hurdle. Last night I had to rush to the ER because I found another hole in my face with my bone exposed. It was such a blow to both me and Jason and extremely frustrating. My surgeon met me at the hospital and after an hour of discussing the best possible way to fix the hole and lots of tears and anger he stitched it up. The concern is that the new stitch will cause a bigger hole. Now we have to sit and wait and PRAY. If this stitch does not work, then I am facing another surgery. There are many options one of which includes cutting away all of the skin on my cheek and replacing it with skin from my forearm. I get sick to my stomach when I think about this, but I am trying hard to remain hopeful that the stitch will work. I just can't imagine more damage done to my face.

So I am reaching out to you for more prayers. Please pray that this stitch will work and that the hole will heal. Pray no more holes will form. Pray for strength. I am so down in the dumps right now. I was hoping for a Summer of no worries and that doesn't seem to be happening. I am wondering what God is trying to accomplish through this next hurdle. I am doing my best to let go and let God.

I will continue to keep you updated.

Love,
Sue

Sue,

I'm teribbly sorry to hear about your latest set-back. I still believe that God has wonderful plans for you, you still have hope. Remember, God is still with you, he's still holding your hand, he's still loving you and taking care of you. Trust him to help you get through this next hurdle.

Psalm 130:5
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope."

Our family will continue to pray for you,

Sue,
I am so sorry to hear that yet another hole has appeared. I know the battle you had to take on to defeat your cancer has left some battle scars and the need for repair surgeries. Please don't loose sight that you did win the battle! Now as with any war you need time to clean up and restore the damage. You walked away from the battle with your life Sue. Praise God!!! I can't imagine how hard it is to wait and to do the work of clean up. When all you want is to move on and forget. Hang in there! God is cleaning up with you.
I read this inspirational article about a man who lost his wife, daughter, and mother all in one car accident. He obviously was in deep grief and loss. He was quoted as saying" It's almost like if you imagine you're at midnight, and you can either turn around and run away from the darkness, or you can keep running forward. It's counterintuitive and terrifying, but the quickest path to the sunrise is actually to run into the darkness. " God is with you in the darkness and in everything you may face in the days ahead. You may not always feel like it and would rather run in the other direction, but God will help see you through. God will meet you every step Sue. Keep heading towards the sunshine. You are almost there!

All my love and prayers,
Nikki
